Buckskin Filly and Palomino Colt born ...

Gumbooya Kameko in foal to Ragtime Oro Blanco for a coloured foal - to be imported to New Zealand by Tui Morgans ...

Wilga Park Golden Glory was born on 27 November 2008, 5 days early. Once again, Red Bluff Paprika waited until no-one was looking and had her filly foal in the paddock some time in the afternoon. She obviously did not want to foal down in the nice comfy stable in the middle of the night, as most other horses would. Glory is the most beautiful buckskin filly and has personality to burn!

Golden Glory - 4 weeks old with Greg and grand-daughter, Morgan

Glory believes we humans have been put on this earth simply to give her lots of pats and scratches. She has the sunniest nature and is happy frolicking in the paddock either by herself of with her best mate, Chase, the Border Collie. She has a super temperament and we can swing lead ropes around her body, legs and head and she doesn't blink an eye ... she thinks it's just another scratching tool.

Glory is already being led around with the halter and is happy to have our grandchildren sit on her back. She nickers to us and canters up to greet us. We couldn't have asked for more. This little girl is pretty near perfect in conformation and temperament.

Golden Glory (RanchBoss Cortez X Red Bluff Paprika) - 3 weeks old

Wilga Park Jalapeno was born just six days after Godlen Glory on 03 December, also 5 days early. He is just the classiest palomino colt!! Eagleview Skybeau lets me know early in the day that she will be foaling down that evening, and so we had time to invite Kate and Conor (our friends' children) to witness the birth.

What a momentous occassion! Conor was telling his Dad the following morning how very special this foal is. He said, "This is a very, very special foal as he is the very first 'jalapeno' Morgan colt to be born in Australia'. His Dad, of course, knew that he meant 'palomino'! It made us smile! In searching for a name for this colt we just couldn't go past 'Jalapeno' as it fits very neatly into our theme of naming foals with plant/tree names.

Jalapeno (Ragtime Oro Blanco X Eagleview Skybeau) - 3 weeks old

Jalapeno is a high caliber Morgan colt and is very uphill. He looks like a Dressage horse already. He is the perfect palomino colour with a lovely white blaze and one white sock. His personality is slightly more reserved than Glory, though there is no hesitation in coming up for his share of pats and scratches. He is a super sweet foal. Jalapeno loves yoghurt and walks up and opens his mouth as soon as he sees a syringe in our hand.

Jal seems to have the genes to go well over 15hh. He is beautiful to look at, tremendously photogenic, and we will watch with interest as he grows. He, like Glory, doesn't mind having the grandchilren on his back. Typically Morgan, he can't resist people! He loves to have his fair share of attention.

Wilga Park Jalapeno - 3 weeks old, enjoying the attention from family and friends

Gumbooya Kameko, owned by Peter and Bridget Cameron of Tui Morgans in New Zealand, is residing in our paddocks at the moment. She is pregnant with a coloured baby by Ragtime Oro Blanco and she will be shipped off to New Zealand in February 2009. This is the first season the 'Casper' (Ragtime Oro Blanco) frozen semen has been available to the public and Bridget is very excited about finally having a coloured Morgan, which will be a first for New Zealand.

Mt Tawonga Marrella is in foal to RanchBoss Cortez and we hope also that we will have positive pregnancy tests from Mt Tawonga Natasha (mother of the gorgeous Chambourcin) and Red Bluff Paprika (for another just like Golden Ash and Golden Glory!).

Eaglieview Skybeau is currently at the Breeding Centre to try for another like young Jalapeno from the 'Casper' frozen semen. That cross is magic and we would like to see if this mix is as consistent as the Cortez X Skybeau cross.

Haymeron Park Ruby Jane will also, hopefully, be in foal to RanchBoss Cortez to try for our Foundation Morgan foal. The little buckskin colt that she lost, when she foaled down 7 weeks early, was perfectly put together, so we can expect a lovely foal in 2009.

Mt Tawonga Oscar had a fun time with Bernadette when she came to visit from Victoria. Bernadette loves to jump and so she gave Oscar some tuition over some small rails in our arena. She also had me doing the same. What fun!! Oscar is very steady and consistent and given the training would make a super horse to jump with. Bernadette also had some fun with the foals and Cortez. She swears if she could have fitted Glory into her suitcase, she would have gone home with her.
