RanchBoss Cortez has been out to an official Dressage competition with Imke Metje and has obtained a qualifying score for the Queensland State Dressage Championships and also placed in the field of 24 entrants. Whilst Imke is away in Germany, Cortez is visiting Gypsie Lodge Equestrian Centre Gypsie Lodge Equestrian Centre to stay in training with Leasa Stephen.

We are very happy to have Cortez trained at Gypsie Lodge as we know the care and training is of the very best quality.

We have had the pleasure of a visit from new Morgan Owners, Nila and Andrew, and it was wonderful to introduce them to our little Morgan herd and for Nila to try out her Elementary level skills on Oscar, which they did superbly together. It was a joy to watch.

RanchBoss Cortez, shown so successfully by our young German friend, Imke Metje, has claimed the prestigious Title of Supreme Champion Stallion of the Show for the second time in his short Showing Career. He earned the Title last year at a Regional Show, and again this year at Blackbutt. He was also Supreme Champion Dilute at the 2007 Toowoomba Royal, so he is certainly making his mark in the Show Ring.

Imke has taken Cortez under her wing and is having fun competing him in the Dressage Arena. He has had to forget all his Reining training (yet again) and learn how to go from canter to trot instead of canter to sliding stop! Imke has a wonderful background in both showing stallions and in Dressage training, from her home country of Germany, and we are fortunate to have her handling our horses. Imke is also, in her spare time, an Australian agent for Horses World Wide Business and you can check the web site here Horses World Wide Business

Mt Tawonga Oscar, Wilga Park Malaynee and Wilga Park Tippuhana, also did well at the Blackbutt Show. Oscar won the pure gelding class, Malaynee, owned by Jane Warren, was first in the pure mare class and Tippuhana, was second in that same class. Both Malaynee and Tippuhana are just 2 1/2 years old.

Cortez, along with Mt Tawonga Oscar, has been out to Allora and to the Toowoomba Dressage Championships in the last few weeks. Both scored nicely in their respective levels, Cortez at Novice and Oscar at Elementary. Oscar brought home the two blue ribbons from Allora.

Cortez, of course, had his very own Fan club waiting to cuddle him when he finished his tests. Imke and Cortez are enjoying their time together immensely and they have the makings of being a hugely successfull pair.

Mt Tawonga Nepean has been doing his job well and delighting all the visiting kids with fun rides. Chaser, the Border Collie has to join in as well and the kids love to ride around the arena with Chaser on the back. Nepean has been brought back into work and is having some more Dressage training with Imke. It keeps him fit. These photos were taken when he still very much out of condition.

Don't forget to keep an eye on the Photo Album. I will update with some new photos very shorlty.
