Wilga Park Malaynee, the very first foal we bred, is started under saddle ...

Mt Tawonga Oscar places in Elementary Dressage Competitions ...

Wilga Park Morgans blitz the field at Gold Coast Show. RanchBoss Cortez is Supreme Champion three times over, Wilga Park Tippuhana Champion Morgan Mare and Mt Tawonga Oscar Champion Morgan Gelding ... read more at the bottom of the news page.

Wilga Park Malaynee (Karenza Malanion - Imp NZ X Eagleview Skybeau) has been started with David Grace, one of Australia's top Parelli Trainers. She spent just three weeks at David's property and Jane Warren, Malaynee's owner, is so very proud of how she has taken to her new experience of being under saddle. Malaynee is so confident and curious, and so willing to try anything new that it is making riding an enormously enjoyable time for Jane.

We are like proud parents watching our baby take it's first steps and speaking it's first words. This young filly was the very first we bred and she holds a very special place in our hearts. She is the perfect package. Malaynee will not be more than 14'2hh finished, as she is 3/4 Lippitt and has a wonderful combination of her Dam's and Sire's looks, talent, personality, ability and intelligence.

Mt Tawonga Oscar has pleasantly surprised me with a third place in his last Elementary Test at Toowoomba. His score was just over 60%, but the unfortunate part about that is that it was in the Associate test, not the Official test the next day, therefore it didn't count towards a qualifying score for State Dressage Championships in October. However, we have nominated for State and fingers crossed they will accept us on our two qualifying scores.

RanchBoss Cortez will also hopefully be going to State Champs with Imke Quast, his rider, as they have three qualifying scores in Novice. Imke and Cortez have been attending clinics with Irene Barkles-Noreen and gaining a lot of helpful tips. Each time they go out together, their score is higher than the previous competition. Cortez is finally beginning to leave his sudden stops from his Reining Training behind.

Both horses have been out to the Samford Official Dressage day and Toowoomba Official Dressage very recently, doing well at each, and have a busy schedule ahead of them with more Official Comps at Laidley and Nambour leading up to State Championships in October.

However, the BEST news for August ... I've saved 'til last. Wilga Park Morgans had a Blinder at Gold Coast Show!!

RanchBoss Cortez .... 5 first places (two of those in ridden classes), 2 Champion Sashes, 1 Reserve Champion (in a Ridden class) and THREE Supreme Champion Sashes ... Supreme Champion Morgan, Supreme Champion Buckskin and Overall Supreme Champion of the 4 Supreme Dilutes (Palomino, Cremello, Buckskin and Perlino - a wonderful line-up of Supreme Champions).

Wilga Park Tippuhana has won her first Champion Morgan Mare and Mt Tawonga Oscar has taken home another Champion Morgan Gelding sash, along with a second ribbon to Cortez in the ridden Morgan class.

We had the most wonderful weekend, where we camped at Southport Pony and Hack Club and had a ton of fun with the horses on Sunday morning before heading off to the Beach for a swim and lunch and then back to the Showgrounds.
