February 2008 Haymeron Park Ruby Jane (RJ), Foundation Morgan Mare, is in foal to RanchBoss Cortez, Foundation Morgan Stallion. Wilga Park Chambourcin's colour genetics are complete. Mt Tawonga Marrella and Red Bluff Paprika have had the ultrasound to sex the foals due in 2008 .... see below for more details! Eagleview Skybeau (aka Calypso) has had the 53 day ultra-sound and the embryo has been sex-tested. See below for the results. This baby will be buckskin, dunskin or palomino - and due early December 2008. Haymeron Park Ruby Jane is due to foal down with our first Foundation Morgan foal on 02 January 2009. We have 50% chance of a buckskin foal with this cross. Whatever colour it is, this foal will be a sensible, no nonsense horse that will be suited to any discipline. With the combination of genetics of both Cortez and RJ, this foal will have movement that is elastic and free, and with a temperament that any nervous rider could take out as a green horse without fear. Ruby Jane is one of the 12.6% of Morgan mares, registered since 2000, who qualify to be classed as Foundation Morgans and RanchBoss Cortez is one of 13.1% of Morgan stallions registered since then, who qualify.
Haymeron Park Ruby Jane - in foal to RanchBoss Cortez Sire: Karenza Apollo (imp NZ) Dam: Karenza Amethyst (Imp NZ) Wilga Park Chambourcin's colour genetics have been completed and this superb filly is Ee aa nn - hetrozygous BLACK ... black, hiding a chestnut gene, and no cream gene. Those colour genetics made us think long and hard about keeping this exquisite filly, as we feel she is the most superb filly we have bred. We have, however, come to the conclusion that someone else can have the pleasure of owning this athletic young filly and have the ability to breed beautiful black foals from her down the track. Chambourcin has the personality and the athleticism to excel at any discipline. A very hard decision to make, but with 4 more on the way, we have to be sensible. Australia now has an excellent choice of magnificent black Morgan stallions in the Country to put to this supremely bred young filly to produce stunning black foals.
Wilga Park Chambourcin - just 4 weeks old Sire: RanchBoss Cortez Dam: Mt Tawonga Natasha Mt Tawonga Marrella will have a Filly foal to Cortez!! Super News!!! Even I could see the evidence on the ultra-sound screen. This mare produces magnificent foals with size and movement and this particular combination is one we are looking forward to with anticipation. By 30th November 08 we will know if it is a buckskin or bay, black or smokey black. With those choices of colour we are extremely happy!
Mt Tawonga Marrella Sire: Wawayanda WatchOut Dam: Aura Dell Misty Red Bluff Paprika is also in foal to Cortez!! And it is a Filly!! This one was not so clear, but the verdict is still a filly foal. Paprika produced a gorgeous buckskin gelding with Cortez in 2006 and the cross is awesome. A repeat performance will please us greatly. Paprika shows true Morgan type, being a half Lippett mare, and displays such a laid back temperament that kids could be led around on her as an unbroken 2yr old. Judging by her first foal, Wilga Park Golden Ash, she has what it takes to be a super Broodmare to produce magnificent stock. She too will produce bay or buckskin, black or smokey black with Cortez - no other choices here either, and we are not a bit sad!
Red Bluff Paprika Sire: Taproot Messenger Dam: Mt Tawonga Evonne Marrella and Paprika due together around 30 November 2008! Eagleview Skybeau (Calypso) is having a Colt foal - to Ragtime Oro Blanco. Due in the first week of December 08. This colt will be buckskin, dunskin or palomino!! Our Vet felt reasonably comfortable with the assessment of the scan, so I think we can be 99.9% sure this one is a colt. We are tremendously happy that it is a colt, as our other coloured boys have been sold on to lovely homes as riding horses, and we would like to see this happen with this foal as well. Calypso is such an awesome mare! Her intelligence, talent and temperament are her outstanding features ... once you get past her stunning looks. Ragtime Oro Blanco (Casper) has proven his super cool temperament and ability to produce size, in last year's foal from Marrella (Madagascar), and with luck, we will have reports on how Casper goes under saddle shortly. He is now 5 years old and, in Arizona USA, they seem to not start them until then.
Eagleview Skybeau (aka Calypso) Sire: Marvelous Encore Dam: Mt Tawonga Bea (dec) Previous foals from Marrella, Paprika and Skybeau can be viewed on the Foals Page. Click on the link either at the side of this page, or at the bottom to go there.
