May 07 CDI-W Stallion Parade, Foals Due, Blackbutt Show and Dressage! CDI-W - International Level Dressage Event RanchBoss Cortez Stole the Show at the Stallion Parade, May 26th! Cortez was certainly the big Crowd Pleaser at the Saturday evening event that was held just before the Grand Prix Freestyle. Each of the 8 stallions in the Parade had 3 minutes each to show off their talents, in the Indoor Arena, at the Toowoomba Showgrounds, and the biggest, most enthusiastic crowd response was for the Golden Morgan Stallion.
RanchBoss Cortez - Stallion Parade CDI-W Toowoomba We saw some breathtaking Passage and Piaffe from some high performing warmblood stallions and then, to the whoops and whistles and cat-calls of the crowd, in gallops RanchBoss Cortez, the golden Morgan stallion. Linda Shore, from RiverRange Warmbloods, is our Instructor and Horse Trainer and she really enjoys her stress-free rides on Cortez. She and Cortez showed the crowd what a wonderful temperament the Morgan has. They galloped around with the buckle of the reins resting on his wither, with Linda waving to the crowd so that they could see she was riding 'no hands'. When she picked the reins up she then showed what a finely tuned Dressage horse Cortez can be with this lovely half-pass across the arena. He did whatever she asked of him, and he was superb! He was also very popular in the bidding for the Stallion Service in the Silent Auction over the weekend. His excellent temperament won heaps of hearts. Foals Due Eagleview Skybeau (aka Calypso) 'Calypso', our beautiful black mare, is carrying her second Cortez foal, due December 07. The ultrasound shows it is a colt foal ... and the Vet is very sure of that. He will be black, bay or buckskin and should be a stunning foal. He will be for sale and will become someone's future lifetime buddy. With just half the talent of his parents who, between them, have shown potential in dressage, reining, jumping, cow/horse work, hacking and just plain old trail riding, he will be a winner in any arena, or very happy to be just a regular family horse.
Eagleview Skybeau - expecting a Cortez Colt foal Dec 07 Mt Tawonga Natasha (Elegance) Elegance is having a Cortez Filly foal!! She has hung up her competition saddle for the last time, and has given up the opportunity to take those Supreme Champion Morgan Sashes that she was used to, and will now join the broodmare paddock. Elle was training at Elementary level Dressage, with a little Medium thrown in, prior to being put to Cortez. She and Cortez should produce a performance horse of the highest quality. Elle is due to foal down in January 2008 and as it is her first foal, we are really looking forward to this one. This foal is most likely to be bay or buckskin. We are hoping, of course, for the buckskin, but whatever colour it is, it will be a stunningly athletic foal.
Mt Tawonga Natasha - Supreme Champion Morgan Mt Tawonga Marrella Marrella, sadly, did not carry her pregnancy. On the brighter side, this allows us to bring Marrella back into a better breeding time frame, and also, as a dry mare, it will be easier to leave her at the Breeding Centre to be bred with the Ragtime Oro Blanco frozen semen for a 100% garaunteed colured foal (either palomino or buckskin) for next year. The quality of her first two foals is unquestionable, and, in particular, her buckskin colt foal, Wilga Park Madagascar, is exceptional. Marrella was purchased in foal (with our lovely Tippuhana), so she was never started. However, her movement is free flowing and ground covering, and she has certainly passed it to her progeny. ![]()

RanchBoss Cortez - Reserve Champion Ridden Dressage for the young ones Haymeron Park Ruby Jane (RJ) who is just 3 yrs old, and Mt Tawonga Dusky went out to a Dressage competition on 03 June. It was RJ's very first Dressage competiton and she, in typical Morgan style, brought home the 1st and 2nd placings in her two tests. Dusky, who was competing for the second time in her entire life, was very proud to bring home the 3rd and 4th placings in her two tests. We were so very proud of these two mares. Both have huge potential in Dressage.
Haymeron Park Ruby Jane, and Mt Tawonga Dusky with Jane Warren aboard Our Foals for Sale With two more on the way, we look forward to any enquiries on our 2006 foals. Wilga Park Summer Beauty - 'Bay Filly' Wilga Park Summer Beauty, bay filly by Cortez out of Eagleview Skybeau, is available for sale. Summer will be as pretty as her Dam, but will be a little taller, finishing 15+hh. Her breeding is superb and, apart from being an exceptional asset to any breeder, she should make an awesome competition horse.
Wilga Park Madagascar - Buckskin Colt Madagascar is by Ragtime Oro Blanco ('Casper'), the perlino Morgan stallion from the USA, who is owned by a closed syndicate. Marrella and 'Casper' have produced this stunning colt, who, we believe, is stallion material. We would love to keep him and have him as a junior stallion one day, but as we have his Sire's frozen semen, we will sell this boy as a stunning gelding to the right home. He should finish around 15'2hh and he is superbly put together, with the sweetest, most 'willing to please' temperament one could ask for.

Wilga Park Golden Ash - Buckskin Colt - SOLD Wilga Park Golden Ash, the first buckskin colt to be born in Australia (RanchBoss Cortez X Red Bluff Paprika), was sold at 5 days of age. Ash has captured both his Dam's laid back nature and his Sire's good looks and willingness to please. He will make a stunning performance horse for his proud new owner.
