September 2008 Wilga Park Tippuhana - under saddle ... Indigo Roc the Boat showing great promise under saddle ... RanchBoss Cortez and Imke have some fun playing at cross country .... See Cortez under saddle ... Wilga Park Tippuhana (Mt Tawonga Tarraji X Mt Tawonga Marrella) has begun her training under saddle with Linda Shore. Linda is extremely pleased with Tip's attitude toward the job. Tip's first rider has never been the first rider on a horse before, but Linda was so confident in Tip's temperament and acceptance of all that was happening, they were trotting around the arena in no time at all. Before mounting, Jade was instructed to jump up and down in the stirrup, being as ungainly as possible, swinging her leg and bumping Tip on the rump a number of times as she put her leg over. She climbed on one side and dismounted the other, time and again ... and Tip just stood there ... obviously loving the attention. The next session of training will be Linda riding solo. Tippuhana has taken to it like a duck to water and we're looking forward to seeing her compete in the future. ![]() Linda Shore ponying Tip with Jade astride. Indigo Roc the Boat has also been having a weekly training session with Linda and it amazing just what he retains and how much he improves from week to week. I look forward to taking both Tippuhana and Rocky out to some small Dressage competitons early next year. Rocky will be in the Pony section, of course. As he was purchased particularly for his 14'1HH height to be schooled for little children to ride, it will be important to introduce him to lots of outings and adventures. Of course, Rocky will be as comfortable out at a competition as he is in his paddock at home.
RanchBoss Cortez and Imke have been having fun playing at cross country riding and both enjoyed it tremendously. Cortez likes to enjoy a bit of bush riding after being schooled in the arena. He and Mt Tawonga Oscar have qualified for the Queensland State Dressage Championships. We don't expect to do anything amazing, but we are very happy to have been accepted.
