Cabernet is only the fourth foal from Cortez x Mt Tawonga Natasha (aka Elle), as Elle was out performing in the Dressage scene until she was six. Cabernet, being a little premature, and needing that little extra attention, has become one of our favourites. Apart from her birth being witnessed by the family on Christmas day, as if she was a gift to us, she has captured our hearts in so many ways.
She has a beautiful nature, is sweet and obliging with a tiny bit a attitude mixed in. She is also simply exquisite in her looks. When she finally fills out, she will be a mare that attracts attention where ever she goes.
Son-in-law, Mel, has named this little girl, and that is also very fitting, as it was he who alerted us to the fact that Elle was laying down to have her foal. If we hadn't been alerted to be there, the sack may not have broken and Cabernet may very well have suffocated. She is a rather special little filly.
