OUR BREEDING PROGRAM
Our passion at Wilga Park is to breed Morgan horses, and, in particular, breeding quality Morgans from exceptional bloodlines with the added bonus of colour. We are more of a boutique stud and our plan is to only breed three (or maybe four) foals each year, of which some will be coloured buckskin or palomino.
With our resident Foundation Morgan, Buckskin Stallion, RanchBoss Cortez (imp USA), and imported frozen semen from the Perlino Morgan stallion, Ragtime Oro Blanco (USA), we feel we have some of the best bloodlines available to put with our carefully chosen mares, to produce athletic performance horses with temperaments that will suit the nervous beginner to the serious competitor. The bloodlines we are breeding from have a reputation for their versatility and temperament.
Morgans are sensible, no fizz, riding horses that have the ability to be a perfect trail horse or compete in any arena and bring home a ribbon.
OUR LOCATION
We are situated just 23km south of Toowoomba, Queensland. Toowoomba is known as the Garden City, and is located on top of the Great Dividing Range west of Brisbane and is a 2 hours leisurely drive from both the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.
OUR FACILITIES
We have developed facilities specifically to suit our breeding and training plans, and these integrate ideally with our suitably sized boutique property.
We have a round-yard for early training, a sand arena for training our riding horses and a 3 stable complex with day yards to suit our brood mares.
Our stallion RanchBoss Cortez has his own 2-acre paddock with a stable on the side of the hill where he can graze and overlook his herd.
Our brood-mare paddocks are foal fenced with netting to ensure the young ones cannot harm themselves.
